June E. Nylen Cancer Center![]() New Brick Paver Path to Honor Those Touched by Cancer The June E. Nylen Cancer Center is redoing the landscaping in front of their main entrance in order to increase visibility. This created an opportunity to incorporate a brick paver path and this then provides the occasion to pay tribute to those who are battling cancer or have overcome cancer, to honor those who valiantly fought it, and to recognize the caregivers whose lives have also been touched by cancer. Add a Name on a Brick in Honor Of or In Memory Of Loved Ones Affected by Cancer Donations will cover the cost of the landscaping project and extra proceeds will go towards purchasing a new PET Scanner that we will be upgrading for our patients. State-of-the art imaging technology including the positron emission tomography (PET) is an important tool in the diagnosis and staging of cancer, including re-staging throughout treatment.

Nylen Cancer Center (JENCC) opened its doors in 1995 as the Siouxland Regional Cancer Center, a joint venture of Siouxland Medical Center and UnityPoint Health – St. Luke’s. It was one of the first freestanding cancer centers in the Midwest. In December 2004 the name was changed to the June E. Nylen Cancer Center following a generous gift from Mark Nylen in memory of his mother.
