Fireworks will return to Mount Rushmore for the Fourth of July in 2020, Gov. Kristi Noem announced on Tuesday. The state reached an agreement with the U.S. Department of the Interior to have fireworks beginning with the 2020 Independence Day celebration after several months of meetings and discussions, Noem said.
"Let us place there, carved high, as close to heaven as we can, the words of our leaders, their faces, to show posterity what manner of men they were. Then breathe a prayer that these records will endure until the wind and rain alone shall wear them away.
