Did you know that there are 400 to 800 different dog breeds in the world? Dogs are more than a pet, they are part of the family. Dogs sense everything including illness, happiness, anxiety, food, and so much more. They know exactly when change happens. I am a pet owner of two dogs. One is a rescue dog, a boarder collie and blue heeler mix. I am so glad we rescued her from the humane society. They took great care of her, but she was looking for a forever home. She has been part of our family for two years. I love her cuddles, sneaks, and barks just because she wants us to know she is around. I also feel protected, because most of the time she is right beside me as I work from my home office. Dogs also love to walk and play, it is definitely an opportunity to stay active when you are a dog owner. I am awake most mornings by 6:00am because my dog will give me a lick or nudge that it wants to go outside. Recognizing your dogs has needs and feelings is important for bonding, loyalty and adjustment. Give them time to learn the special things about your family. Some families have more than one pet, so consider what dogs may like companions before making a purchase. We have a German Shephard and Boarder Collie, they are both very high energy, love to play and are both around 4 years old, so they stay very active.
